Photographer's Note
...taking a shot before it is almost a crime. Taking a shot during it gets you a face like seen here. I just hope it is coffee as this guy was sitting right next to the millet oven.
Bobo-Dioulasso, well, I would recommend it to any adventurous soul, as well as Burkina Faso. Landlocked, hot, humid, chaotic, frustrating, exhilirating and everything in between. This shot was taken in the old village which is located right in the middle of Bobo...fascinating. Just don't make too many plans, just go with the flow, cause there's nothing much more you can do. You will enjoy much more that way too.

Interesting portrait John. The diagonal, the uniform background and this glance. This boy really looks as if he wanted to be left alone.

John: it's an immediately appealing image - with those coffee trappings and a natural comportment, who could resist the image? I would have tried a level POV, though, maybe just personal taste. regards, c

this little guy fits exactly the place you described in your note, you have got a very annoyed look from the cutie.that shiny brown skin immediately appeals to your eye.i`m in awe seeing this detailed shot and its textures.

Fantastic shot, John! I like its daily life feel and the universality of it even though it's from a place very unlike my own. I can picture a little friend of mine (blonde hair, blue eyes) who looks nothing like this guy, but yet has been seen with the same morning expression! I love this image. Sounds like an incredible place.

Hello John,
I seem to have lost touch of your pictures, but this one is excellent. A fine portrait, daily life, great colours and a clean composition. I also liked Burkina Faso very much (although it was still Upper Volta when I was there).
Best regards,
Gert
