A barber shop in Ouagadougou, capital of Burkina Faso. A fine example of the many decorated shop fronts I found in that city in 1982. Here the customer had the opportunity to decide his hairstyle even before entering. The sign to the right is for one of the two local brands of beer, Sovobra, the other one being Bravolta (no, not Travolta). The brand names show that this picture was taken when the country was still known as Upper Volta.
Scanned from a Kodachrome slide.

Hej Gert!
Notable is that non of the figures drawn at the sign looks particular African. an other humoristic image from Burkina

Hej Gert,
The first thing that strikes me here is, exactly like Anders points out, the hair style suggestions that resembles Elvis or something like that. Did you see any inhabitants in Ouagadougou looking like Elvis? Fine colours and the hen in the right corner gives a certain life to the picture.

Hi Gert
Ahha, so there is a bar next door..
Maybe the barber has a cunning plan to catch customers after a few Sovobra with the option of the "new and improved style"?!

Great shot. I like the grainy old feel. The sun-faded and worn painted walls you have captured so well.

Hi Gert,
Quite impressive your golden series of this savage charming place.I like in all your photos the golden light and tones.
I selected this one because I find this graphism and textures
very attractive and I find this shop very unusual and worth seeing. Thanks for sharing.Have a wonderful day.
