[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One thing is always very surprising for people who have never been to Africa: Africans are walking very long distances, carrying kids on their back, goods for sale or anything on their head for long hours under the sun and the heat.

This was early morning in Gwelwongo on the road to the livestock market.

a b&w version is posted in ws; although I am not too happy with it... what do you think?

Hi Eric,
You have captured the spirit of Africa. Nice daily life shot. Good colors, POV and composition.
Cheers,
Claire

Eric,
A nice image of the tow ladies on what is I'm sure a long daily walk. I like the composition but maybe framing this vertically might have accentuated the distance. Just a thought.I agree the colour works better.

Cheers
Peter

Hi Eric
Nice Neutral colours
Excellent composition and pov which shows the reality of life in parts of Africa
Prefer the colour compo as to b&W
Nice framing as well.
regards
Lynette

Salut Eric

Hi Eric,
Not every pictures leans it self for a perfect b&w. It all depends on what kind of colours you have in the original. This one is much stronger in colour then in b&w. Not because your conversion is not good, but because the womans dress contrast much better to the sand colours from the earth. The rest of the image with trees and a but dull sky looks good in here, but not in the ws, more a matter of choosing other colours and then converting.
Waiting for your next try ;-)
Have a nice day, Henk

Salut Eric,

Bravo.

I am partial to the colour version here, for I adore your earth tones of Burkina Faso, but also like the WS that is different in mood, more like a film shot, and perhaps also more timeless in its feel. The scene is simple and therein lies its greatest beauty, dear Eric

Continuing fascinting series of this little visited place. Very good impression presented here, especially with so many individual walkers on the track, looks like quite an important route.

J'aime beaucoup,
Francis

Beautiful picture, I would be interested to know if in later years these people suffer from arthritis as people in Canada do. Such heavy work every day must be hard on the joints I would think...just a thought. A great picture!!! Beautiful country as well.!
