Portable Supermarket, a photo from Centre, East

Photographer's Note

This is a portable supermarket in the capital Ouagadougou of Burkina Faso. In Africa, even a small shop under private management is called "supermarket" in many cases.
There is a modern large supermarket like Marina Market and local traditional Central Market nearby. Photographing there, however, was not allowed. A friend of mine has been arrested for photographing a library in Bamako.

Ouagadougou has a population of 1,475,223, which is the 32th largest rank in Africa. Quebec City, Lyon, Grenoble, Turin, Kumasi, San Miniato, Briton Ferry, Leuze-en-Hainaut, Kuwait City and Taipei are sister cities with Ouagadougou.

Very colourful and cluttered shot, with the frame full of details, shapes, people, dirt, and above all brooms. Great daily life capture which conveys a strong sense of what the place is like. Very interesting note about restrictions of photography - this is happening all over the world.

In Belgium is this inconceivable a mobile supermarket, but I find this pleasant for look at.
Nice presentation too.

about your friend, i guess thats the things you learn when traveling to different countries and places, lesson learned!
these are wonderful cultural photos, we can learn so much just from viewing them.
so many elements are in play here, especially that cart.
and how the woman is carrying her child, we dont do that here in canada

Hisashi this photo reveals a kind of lifestyle that is so very different than many here in the Western world have ever seen. This shopping cart wagon shows that one must use whatever resources and means to make a living. Excellent cultural capture of the life and times here.

Great and colourful image, I like the light and shadow in this image. In fact the light works well with the foreground in bright sunshine and the interior of blue shop in relative slight darkness. There's loads of colour and plenty to attract the viewers' eye. The whole thing focused perfectly and sharpness is excellent while the shop assistant and the lady with her baby give it some life. The shot itself is really just a record of something that caught your eye and at a later date will doubtless invoke a memory or two. Good photo opportunity, well done and Congrats.
