I think it works very well Eric, adding another dimension to what would otherwise have been just another street vendor shot. Even though we can't see properly, I like how he appears to be looking at you through the raindrops.
It might have been interesting to use an even smaller aperture to bring the raindrops into sharper focus, although maybe it wouldn't have worked as well.

Hi Eric,

It is difficult for me to say whether or not I like this shot. The raindrops certainly add a more artistic mood to the picture, and it helps us feel the environment and atmosphere more-this is a very good thing. I think perhaps my issue here is the amount of water drops, perhaps too many, I think we lose some of the content of the image. The vendors face, to me, is a key element of the the photo, and here it is completely abstracted. But nonetheless, nice work, a good experiment, thanks for sharing!

C'est vrai que les images à travers les vitres mouillées donnent parfois de bonnes surprises et sont surtout capables de restituer une ambiance. Ici, la prise de vue ne restitue pas trop l'ambiance, bien que l'on distingue parfaitement qu'il s'agisse d'un étal. Elle est rendue très abstraite, ce qui fait que le WS est bien mieux à mon gout. Je pense que tu aurais encore pu pousser la saturation ou mieux, utiliser le mélangeur de couche puisque tu utilises CS2.

La version dans le WS me parait plus lisible car j'ai l'impression qu'on distingue encore mieux le contexte: l'etale, le poster ... Zut tu n'aurais pas pu te décaler un peu pour qu'on puisse voir son visage au monsieur ? comme maintes fois répéter, j'ai tjs aimé les photos qui respirent le voyage. Celle-ci en fait partie, pris sur le vif, un instant de ton voyage: un lieu, un moment, le temps (pluvieux) ... une tranche de vie de ton périple.

hello Eric,

I like it very much, it's always a surprise what the result will be, and even only that makes it interesting. I like the workshop more because the colours are better. It is a rainy day, and there is always a " smog" over photos.

What a vision you present for us! The content of the shot is not so important as is the appeal of it. Without the raindrops, would this be as effective? I doubt. It's like looking thru partial frosted glass or even a painting which has been etched upon. I prefer this version to your WS. I was wondering what if you used a shorter DOF to make the raindrops sharper...but then I don't think that would work as well as it is now. A great artistic shot & a very successful experiment

Love this a lot! Me too, am always dreaming of shooting behind a wet windowpane. This turned out to be so beautiful, Eric. I love the nice muted colours here, more than those in the WS. What makes me curious is that the vendor still stayed outside as if there were no tropical storm raging on...

hello Eric, c est une bonne idee, un moment saisi rapidement, mais j aurais aime voir le visage de l homme, il est cache par une goutte... dommage, en tout cas c est une experimentation.

I do think that I prefer the WS... maybe the added noise that's there.
I don't want to put off experimentation... but I honestly think I like your non-distorted shots more!

Hi Eric,

Coming back to rainy shots... I like this one! Yes, maybe an experiment, but well executed! I might have given it some very dedicated noise reduction in some areas - the brown areas of the roof and the table. But next to that, I do like the atmosphere captured! No better way to capture a rainy day I'd say.
