This solar eclipse lasted about 2 minutes as we were close to the centreline. I had no idea how my photos were going to turn out, as unlike now with digital cameras, i had to wait three weeks until i got home to find out if i had got anything! An amazing experience, the light and temperature drop as it approaches is subtle at first, then the wildlife begins to think that it's dusk, then the light goes and you get this amazing spectacle. On this resized version you can just make out the sunlight shining through craters and depressions on the moon's surface. All too soon it is over, the 'diamond ring' and then back to normality. What a coincidence that we are 400x nearer the moon and that the sun is 400x bigger! ;o)
