Photographer’s Note
While driving at the end of the rainy season from Nata to Maun, along a 300 km monotoneous straight road, I kept watching a fantastic happening in the sky - small cumuli clouds gathering to bigger cumuli clouds, which got darker and bigger and finally they created this storm. What fascinated me the most was that the storm of a diameter of about 20 km had visible attributes of a large cyclone like "the eye" and rain on a front (right side of the picture).

remarkable photo.
the varying purple hues contrast so well against the lush green grass, and the road does a good job of leading ones eye into the depths of the storm.
The contrast between the trees and the storm clouds are a little too much in my opinion.

Hallo Michael!
What a sky! A very interesting and impressive picture! I like that you gave so much space to the sky here. It emphasizes the impression of the forces in these clouds. Great!
Greetings from sunny but cold Germany!

Hi Michael,
This sky is really impressive. I like much this framing vertical leaving this important place to the sky. The road gives a good depth to the image. Very pretty contrasts of the colors. Beautiful photograph, cheer.

Wow, you can feel how powerful those clouds are. They look like they are going to come out of the sky and get you, lol. I like the angle and the colors.

Hi Michael,
Excellent capture of coming storm over Maun. I like your way reserving more space for great, dark cloudy sky while adding the paved road that creates a good depth. Congratulations.

Good capture of the threatening sky. I would have given this two points if the post processing was a bit better done. Unfortunately, there is a halo of light around the tree on the left, which indicates to me that the sky has been darkened by burning down. The reason I know this is because I do it all the time and don't always get it right. It's a good technique to enhance the drama of the image, but I think you, also need a bit more practice at it.

This is typical African storm. I have seen it many times in Angola. And you really got a very good picture showing us all the action. Well done.
I was in Botswana in September and had excellent weather all the time. If you have time, have a look to my African tour photos.

Hi Michael
Wow those are some clouds. Nice choice of vertical format that really gives the image depth. Following the road into the maddening storm. Well done.

Hi Michael, A very dramatic sky & ominous dark light, the depth draws the eye right down the road to an end we just can not see, however the rain in the distance is clearly visible, superbly composed, great vertical framing &, TFS, kind regards Wilson.

Hello MICHAEL,
we had the same idea to take a photo and to give the same tittle about the storm.
Very real image so real that I think that
the storm is arriving now...Good shot
