Photographer’s Note
The Okavango delta is one of the world’s largest inland water systems. It's headwaters start in Angola’s western highlands and enters Botswana, where it is then called the Okavango.
The delta’s floods are fed from the Angolan rains, which start in October and finish sometime in April. The floods only cross the border between Botswana and Namibia in December and will only reach the bottom end of the delta (Maun) sometime in July, taking almost nine months from the source to the bottom!
So waterlevel is the highest in the dry season!
The slow meandering pace of the flood is due to the lack of drop in elevation, which drops a little more than 60 metres over a distance of 450 kilometres.
The delta’s water deadends in the Kalahari Desert with over 95 (!) per cent of the water eventually evaporating.
The "pure magic" atmosphere is the best just before the sunset.

Great shot with equal exposure. Excelent colors and reflection.
Just try adjusting your flash to fill or keeping away from objects in front of your camera next time you use it. The waterplants in the front are blown out.
Anyways it's a perfectly exposed shot beacuse of the flash.
Great job.

Hello Kris,
Amazing shot of this Okavango delta. I love the foreground grass sticking out of the water with the little leaves on the water. The sky looks amazing and the reflection on the water is fantastic. Great composition with stunning colours, great lighting and beautiful details!

Beautiful shot of the Okavango Delta...really a beautiful photo. I've wanted to visit this area for sometime, and hope that I can make it someday. I would love to see a sable antelope in this area, too. A very lovely photo.

This really is a magnificent picture. I hope I can have that sort of views next here in September when I am planning a trip to the region (Victoria Falls, Okavango Delta and the Namibian sand dunes). I went through your Botswana gallery and I can only say that you have a fantastic work. Congratulations.
Antonio
