Photographer’s Note

The gray lourie bird is known as the "go-away bird" because that's what its call sounds like. You hear them all over southern Africa, but these birds were used enough to people that I was able to see them (from a distance).

a fantastic shot, you have taken a very decisive moment, here.
The bird in background makes an impressive shadow, "a towering figure loomed out of the darkness" ...

I love bird photos and this is a nice one. Great light and color and mad good detail. I love the bird in flight behind the front one, too. Too bad the end of its tail is clipped off, but that's minor. Well done! Many thanks and take good care,
