Rest in Okavango delta, a photo from North-West, North

Photographer's Note

In Botswana I was fascinated by the large quantity of elephants, almost eveywhere. But I am poor photographer as you found it not interesting.
From Chobe NP we went a long way in Namibia, in caprivi street. The view were interesting, with many villages, but we went quite fast and the photos made from moving truck were not good. We entered botswana again to go to Okavango delta. First, we went more than an hour with a fast boat, then transported our tents and mats and small bags in mookoro boats (kind of dugout) to the island where we had a wild camp. It was an experience! I will show more photos later, here the scene that seems amusing to me. This family is having rest on the bank of Okacango. Even in such a remote place, the woman checks if there are some SMS for her. On the right you can see mokoro. and what is the object on the righrt of the woman? Yes, it is an elephant's droping.

Hello Malgorzata,
The light was clearly difficult which has given you some problems with the colours and the sky. But why bother with such details when looking at an interesting and nice photo with a human touch? Checking the SMS in the Okavango delta! How the world has changed. I remember a few years ago in the remore northeastern part of India seeing a woman walking through the paddy fields talking on her mobile phone. I got the same feeling of witnessing a huge revolution in the human history. And in this case the elephants go on leaving their dropping as if nothing has happened!

Bonjour Malgorzata,

Une belle scène de la vie quotidienne pour les gens de cette région. J'aime le point de vue très bas qui place le photographe au niveau des gens photographiés.

Cette scène familiale est assez amusante, surtout avec la contribution apportée par l'éléphant -). Les conditions de lumière n'avaient pas l'air exceptionnelles mais j'aime la prise de vue au ras du sol et la composition de l'image.

This is interesting. Although the background is wild and poor, the technology is everywhere. I like this simple daily life scene. Well taken.
