African landscape Photo

Photographer’s Note

At the south side of the Chobe park, we spent a night before going in the direction of the Okavango's delta.
At the sunset, the dry grass took a saturated yellow colors and the sky was full of clouds which was amplified by the wide angle lens.
I let on the frame my friend Philippe in order to give a little life to the scene as there was not so much animals as there was also no water.

impressive image with an excellent contrast between the sun-burned grass and the blue+white sky.
Moreover the presence of your friend shows how little men are when compared to the magnificience of nature!

Amazing POV and overall view; I wish the guy wasn't there though, cause I would have just like to use my imagination and thoughts carry me through your terrific scene; instead I find myself thinking about what your friend Philippe, who is dressed out of character with the scene, is doing there :) But it does add a different perspective to it.

Hi Yves,
It is hard to get the circumstances for a landscape photo any better than this. Excellent clouds, low and soft light, well thought POV and composition and the trees leaning to exactly correct direction.

Great landscape with a beautiful sky. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. Your composition is great with an excellent POV. The lone person in the frame gives us an idea of the vastness of this area.

Really good lanscape Yves, taken with a very wide angle lens. The colours of the grass and sky are rich and vibrant. The idea of placing a person in the scene was a good one. There's a great sense of space in this photo, the landscape reminds me a bit of my own country - very flat! Well done.

Très belle prise de vue, avec des couleurs magnifiques et un ciel juste incroyable!
Au niveau de la composition, j'aurais peut-être aimé que l'herbe prenne un peu plus de place en hauteur.
J'espère que ton ami Philippe a uniquement été la cible de ton appareil... :-)

Les nuages donnent un superbe effet à la scéne comme le petit animal au loin avec son chapeau. Un détail qui change tout.

Entre le mouvement des nuages et ceux des arbres, tout nous conduit à ce que le regard soit porté vers le point de fuite, en direction de l'horizon. De très belles couleurs. Une image qui fait rêver d'exotisme...

je vais être le seul a redire,mais je trouve que le coup de grand angle est un peu trop visible sur la partie inférieure de la photo,le personnage penche..,ce qui n'est pas grave pour les arbres et ciel.

Bonjour Yves,

une photo que je n'avais pas eu l'occasion de voir mais qui est vraiment superbe ! L'horizon est à hauteur d'objectif et ce ciel immense au-dessus donne tant de profondeur... et il est magnifique. La composition est donc presque parfaite (car je ne suis pas fan du personnage au milieu).

Hi Yves,

This is amazing picture and you captured it really well.
I like composition. Only I am not sure with your friend it is slightly disturbing, but maybe it makes you think about the picture.
I would add more contrast to the clouds to make them more white it would give the picture more "3D effect".
