Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken at a crocodile farm in the Okavango Delta. The animal passed away unexpectedly. The farmer allowed a local man to skin the animal, and then donated the carcass to a group of graduate students, who performed an autopsy to determine the cause of death -- a collapsed lung and pneumonia.
The hide was removed by peeling the arms back, as if the animal were simply wearing a leather jacket.

Oh - your note gives the background for this dramatic photo - my first impression was "bad" but I realise this a kind of farming, just like its done here. Thanks Jenniger - your fine angle makes the photo somehow mystic.

Thanks for the story, or I really wouldn't have liked this photo. :)
