Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken during a sunset cruise on the Chobe river in Botswana. It was late afternoon and the camera was directed towards the setting sun from a boat that was stationary but still moving on the water. I liked the silhouettes of the elephants and was also lucky to capture a few birds inteh same shot. The photo is more or less out of camera apart from a little cropping and straightening the horizon.

I reckon Africa is the best place for sunsets. I was in Zambia and Botswana in late August, early September, and I did witness some amazing sunsets. The silhouettes of the big elephants are beautiful and the birds are a plus in the composition. I also like the nice colours. Well done.

Hi Wia. Being an avid admirer of sunset and sunrise I always jump on anything concerned with these two natural phenomenon. Your shot is really great and appealing especially with the herd and the birds placed in the right position. TFS. Regards.
