Photographer's Note

The land was dry awaiting the wet season. The Chobe River offered some green grass on its little islands to which elephants swam (see previous pictures of elephants crossing the river). here they are rushing to the river's edge to quench their thirst before they do the crossing.
Precious, precious water which we humans take for granted as we pollute our rivers, lakes and seas in the pursuit of material happiness.

Slika obiluje snagom i energijom. Kao da svi sarađuju sa tobom Dado. Da si otkačio dva krajnja leva, dobio bi čistiju kompoziciju i još bio ubedljiviji. Svejedno, ostao sam dugo gledajući ovu divnu scenu. Puno pozdrava prijatelju,

Hello Klaudio,
A well presented image of these elephants heading towards the water on a hot day. I second your thoughts about how we humans take this precious resource so much for granted, at least in the more affluent areas of the world. Who knows how much longer we can continue in the same vein?

Lep pogled i trenutak ...
Dobra ostrina snimka, kontrast, lepe boje.
Dobra kompozicija, lepo pokazani slonovi.
Sve ih je manje, najveci sisar na kopnu, covek je usao u njegovo staniste i ugrozio ga, treba ih sacuvati za sutra.
Sve najbolje.
Kod mene lepi dani sa suncem, nema zime, klima se mnogo promenila.

Hello Klaudio,
A fine, straightforward photo of this herd of magnificent animals. It is also a kind of social study of an average extended elephant family including elders and small children. The bright sun has created strong contrasts but you have handled them very well. Every shade of grey on the elephants' bodies is well captured.
