This is my first post from Botswana. We had crossed the borderline at noon and we were very late for the lunch and after some kilometers our guide decided to stop in this place, at side of the highway. You can see our loved truck Ray(Charles) and the chairs prepared for the lunch. How you can see Kalahari desert has much trees...

I thought at first the vehicle had broken down which reminded me of a trip I had in Turkey years ago, when we broke down in the desert.
A great picture, I like it a lot.

Discovering the world by pictures is the aim of TE: you've well followed the rule! We have the landscape and the way tourists live in

Nice to stop for a picknick in a remote and unknown place, Jorge, it creats a sense of something undiscovered.
From the number of chairs, I reckon the group was small numbered persons, not a crowded tour.
Nice taken from a fairly good distance.
Bom fim de semana,

This is an interesting photo with very good light and pleasant colours despite the overcast sky. I once tried to hitch-hike through the Kalahari but I didn't get far. I had to turn back because there were so few vehicles and it was too tough to wait for hours in the heat by the road. It never occured to me to travel this way. That was 30 years ago so I don't think there were any trucks like this in those days.

Haha, I travelled like that in Africa! My truck was a bit larger, 18 people in the group, but the chairs and the equipment were the same. I loved it. have you slept in tents? I did. The campings were fantastic. I had even the hat as the guy under the tree. I could go once more for such a trip, it was fantastic to be in nateure all the time (except Swakopmund).

I knew Malgo would enjoy and make a comment on this one, i remember her similar type story and photo.
this place looks very arrid, i'm thirsty just viewing it on the screen :)
seems like a rustic type of tour group experience, but one that is also quite memorable.
fun shot, interesting scenery

I like the full view of the truck after hearing about it so many times. Any guesses as to why they were using a truck and not a bus and was it comfortable?
