Photographer's Note
This is the road the slaves had to walk from Abomey which was the place where the king of Dahomey, the main slave trader of the continent, to Ouidah, one of the biggest slave-harbors of the 17th till 19th century.

Hi Gerrit!
Sad history! Would they be sent to Brazil? Right now I really can tell you from where most of our slaves came!
The place certainly looks like some places here in my Country (vegetation, unpaved roads and so forth)!
Your picture is very attractive with excellent sharpness, exposure, pov, dof, colors and composition!
TFS - congratulations!
Best regards,
Neyvan

Hello Gerrit
The slavery was a black page of our history. Very sad to see this road and the meaning that it has. About the photo it is excellent.

Hi Gerrit, a road full of history and significance for this country. Hopefully the reason for using the road has changed - as has the manner of using it. Lovely warm tones, excellent depth of field and good composition overall with a meaningful Note. TFS and have a good weekend, Lisa

Hi Gerrit
A nice warm road that offers a good perspective, it's also animated which is nice, bit dusty for a DSLR though ;-)
Have a nice day JY

Bonjour, cher Gerrit,
Le décor est planté, nous baignons dans l'exotisme et le dépaysement total avec cette vue extraordinaire (qui rappellent des vues filmées).
L'ambiance générale est parfaitement reproduite, nous avons l'impression de faire partie du décor.
Bravo !
Amitiés.

Hello Gerrit,
Seems quite a busy road now put to better use than its history would suggest. I like the vibrant colours and the great feeling of animation. Good long perspective.

Hi Gerrit,
very nice shot. The perspective of the land road, the warm lighting and the inclusion of the bykers make this an attractive photograph. Very well collected!

Hello Gerrit,
In spite of the dust, this is the kind of picture that gives me an urge to go back to Africa once again. What a pleasure to spend long hours in an overcrowded taxi brousse on a bumby road!
I like the good light and splendid colours in this photo, as well as the good depth.
I had read about Ouidah when I studied social anthropology, so it was with great interest that I went there. It turned out to be the only place where I have been deported by the police, who didn't like the idea of having a white foreigner spending the night there!
Regards,
Gert

Hallo Gerrit,
Beste groeten, Paul

Hello Gerrit,
The dry and dusty feeling is well conveyed in this well composed frame!
The red soil contrast nicely with the surrounding greenery, and the life on and around the road is well recorded...
Good lead-in and fine details, the colours are nicely reproduced!
Greetings,

Bonjour Gerrit,
Amicalement
