Within the city of Ouidah lies the Sacred Forest of Kpassé. There are a number of sculptures in the forest depicting various aspects of Benin's animist religion (Voodoo or Vodoun). This particular sculpture shows the Fa. Consulting the Fa is akin to having your fortune read.
The sacred forest is open to the public and for a small fee, a friendly tour guide will show you around. There is much of interest to see and an ample amount of shade to beat the heat. There is also a healthy dose of Beninese magic, the highlight of which is a 15th century King who turned himself into a tree (it still stands today).

Superb detail of this sculpture, the interesting note guide us, to understand better the image.
I love the play of light and shadows in this composition, which also has a touch of mysticism, perfect clarity that highlights details and textures.
Enjoy the weekend.

A nice lightning with a right setting of contrast to put a mood on this artwork shot.
Good composition as well.

This closeup shot is excellent...with an air of mystery as to how this would look in totality (perhaps you could have posted a workshop post for us to understand)
Like composition works well with the foot with the partial light & the play of shade & light works out well!
