Parfois appelée « le tigre de l'herbe » en raison de ses mœurs voraces, la mante religieuse se nourrit d'animaux vivants qu'elle attrape avec ses pattes avant et immobilise en dévorant ses ganglions cervicaux puis le reste du corps jusqu'à l'extrémité de l'abdomen.

Sometimes called the "grass tiger" because of its voracious habits, the praying mantis feeds on animals caught with her front paws eating the cervical lymph nodes and then the rest of the body until the tip of the abdomen.
