Tribute to the people of Angola
This photo as been taken at the refugee field of Feira in Lobito. This child, supposed to have nine years old, is the reflection of human resistance beyond the limits...
also a tribute to my dear friend Serafim Jorge, also born in Angola,Lubango, living there for 41 years, and returning at the time for this mission...
...sadness and desperation.
photo/scan Lobito 1993
I would like this images are pure history, however we know that, unfortunately, this is not true. |

Olá José,
Triste, muito triste. Mas uma mão amiga dá sempre uma réstea de esperança.
Obrigado Serafim, obrigado José.

Ola Jose,
It is almost incomprehensible that a 9 y/o could be so tiny and that people are starving. Your excellent portrait conveys well both your friend's outrage and his compassion.

Respect!
I noticed your reference to my previous comment about my hope for these scenes to become history. I know you're right, but without hope...

Hello Jose,
There is nothing I can write about your photo which could translate what I feel.
I always come back to your own words : 'Sadness and desperation'.
Obrigada.
Regards,
Marianne
