[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another black and whites on Northern Angola. This one is also from the Kuimba healthpost.
Mostly kids coming in had malaria, diarrhoea and/or respiratory infections. This boy was an exception; He got burned playing with the cooking water and was in the hospital for that reason. Not much to do on burn wounds in Angola, but at least the infections can be controlled.
Strange to see that the boy had a Barbie as a toy. Guess a donation of toys through a charity organization or the church, since finding a shop selling Barbies in Angola is rare...

Technical note:
The shot was taken with my old Canon Epoca. No exif data for this one. I used Ilford 400 film. Negative scanned with Minolta Dimage Scan Elite II.

als ik dan weer zo'n fot van je zie vraag ik me wel eens af of digitale fotografie alleen maar een zegen is. Zo'n ouderwetse ilford film was toch ook niet gek.
Mooie structuur, moor hard licht. Ik vind het een gewledige foto.

Hoi Dennis,

Ik zie dat u deze foto heeft gescand van een negatief, was dit ook een Z/W misschien?
Wat zijn wij hier verwend wanneer we ons vebranden of ook iets anders, alle steriel en een totale verzorging met baxters, daar moetmen het stellen met enig verband.
Misschien vind de jongen wel troost in de barbie pop.
Beiden kijken maar zeer bedroevend.
Maar u toont opnieuw hoe kwetsbaar mensen zijn, en dit is de boodschap achter deze foto.
