[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Malanje, capital city of the province with he same name in the North-West of Angola. Tjis region was one of the most important battlegrounds during the civil war here in Angola. Everyday you still see the results of this war.
In Malanje, a cool, laid back 'ennio morricone' feel town you will find this grandfather in his wheelchair. His smaal son is pushing him around, and they are asking for money. When somebody gives them 50 Kwanza ( 50 eurocent) they will put up a show where the kid pushes the old man to make a 'wheelie' with his wheelchair. i a way it hurts to see this scene, i another way it can make me smile.

In the Repost i worked more on the photo on saturation, grain, light. I think it is one of my best photos. So , to be honest i was surprised not to get points.
Let's try again !!

hello Jan,
I saw this picture the first time and lingered on it, thinking to write a critique. But I could not see their faces as your image was too dark and I did not want to leave a negative critique. So I am pleased to respond now that you have made some adjustments. I found your note interesting but it also makes me feel pity and discomfort..as does the image. i thnk that is why trek members pass over this. What can we say? Yes, it is a good image, simple and direct. It tells us all we already know about the futility of war. It makes us feel bad because we have so little power to stop horrible things happening. But there is hope here; these two are trying to move on and make something positive out of a big negative.
best wishes
Bev

This is great! I wonder what each is thinking...Both look deep into their thoughts. I like this very much!

this picture, when given some time, is very tender, and very thought provoking. it tells a stoy more than most pictures, and i think i must add it to my favourites...

Wow...
That's a very impressive photo!
A cruel reality.
Is like a strong message in a photo.

Yo Jan!

A very striking and original photo. For the composition I like the frontal view, having the colourful wall behind as a nice background and the expressions on the boy and the man's face are strong. A powerful and reminding photo.

Realistic and "hardcore" shot.
Well done my friend.
Thanks for sharing...
George
