C’est un fait indéniable que Souk-Ahras, ville natale du grand philosophe et théologien Saint-Augustin, est devenue depuis quelques années un passage obligé pour un nombre croissant de chrétiens du monde entier.

Il découvre la philosophie vers 15 ans, en lisant Cicéron, mais c'est d'abord au manichéisme qu'il se convertit. Cette religion connaît à cette époque une grande expansion. Elle enseigne une vision dualiste et tragique du monde (le conflit entre le Bien et le Mal) et préconise une morale ascétique par laquelle l'âme ferait son salut en s'arrachant au monde mauvais.

It is an unmistakable fact that Souk-Ahras, home town of the big philosopher and the theologian Saint Augustin, became for some years a passage obliged for an increasing number of Christians of the whole world.

He discovers the philosophy at about 15 years, by reading Cicéron, but it is at first to the Manicheanism that he is converted. This religion knows about this period a big expansion. it teaches a vision dualistic and tragic of the world (the conflict between the Good and the Evil) and recommends an ascetic morality by which the soul would greet by tearing away(by extracting) from the bad world.

Salut Didier,
A great landscape, whitout doubt, but light was tricky here. Not the best time to make pictures i think. There is a strange colour cast inside the picture were i can not lay my finger on. I think what you did here is the best you could do on that moment. A complete different light then your Nepal series which were fresh and bright, this was much more difficult.
Nevertheless your composition with the yellow field in front with the dead tree in it leads us perfectly to the darker background....i like that.

Hello Didier,
A fascinating landscape with a great sense of depth. Good natural tones and clarity. I would perhaps not have positioned the foreground bush quite so centrally but not a major issue.

A very soft contrast picture, the yellow foreground against the dark middle of the picture and the clarity sky gives a nice composition. Well done.

J'aime beaucoup la douceur de ce paysage, que je n'aurais pas situer spontanément en Algérie. des couleurs étonnantes et belles avec de très beaux effets d'ombres et de lumières sur les champs.

Le paysage est très beau, et je trouve que ce jaune très clair au premier plan est accrocheur.

So, shadows of clouds may create such wonderful effects on a beautiful landscape. With the contrasting pastel colors and not so exact sharpness, the result looks much like a romantic painting. Lovely photo. TFS,

Quel magnifique relief il y a dans ce paysage ! Le premier plan avec les mouvements dus au vent et l'ombre des nuages qui s'étend partout donnent à cette image une profondeur incroyable. Très belle composition et superbe ambiance.

La composition est belle, l'assemblage des couleurs tres agreable, tres doux. je sens un petit probleme avec le rendu, un peu de delave vers le centre sans doute une lumiere pas facile. belle image cependant.

Didier, c'est encore un paysage des plus photogéniques avec le jaune du premier plan et la belle lumière qui filtre à travers les nuages.

Comme Hervé au premier abord je n'aurai pas situé ce paysage en Algérie, ne connaissant pas ce pays. Très belle photo où j'apprécie beaucoup l'harmonie des couleurs et le jeu des lumières. Un paysage reposant et merci pour la note intéressante.
