Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken on top of the beautiful dune of Tin Merzouga in the Tadrart region, in the South of Algeria.

There is only one way to climb a dune but there are many ways to climb down them.

You can run, you can walk or you can...

Slide on your bottom LOL like here. Quite a funny moment.

It was just after the sunset, so there was no that much light, although here you could think the contrary. I had to use a flash or a night scenery mode, I don't remember very well.

Great shot, very interesting POV. You really gave a sense of the immensity of the landscape with the dominant background that dwarfs the foreground people, and you also managed to get the people spaced out right to show the distance from the near ones to the far ones. The background is composed very well--the people lead the viewer to the top left, and you have some rocks to break up the sand that just barely keep the viewer in the frame. Nice work!

Great sense of depth. The people on the picture gives us a great idea of how small we are in the inmensity of the desert.

I must say I enjoyed browsing through your gallery but this particular shot caught my attention and it's the colour. The pastel effect give a very tranquil atmosphere and feeling which I find very pleasant. I like this composition where you emphasized space and the figures did their part in creating an exciting moment. Well done!! Regards and thanks.
