[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I found another one of the few surviving photos of my time in Algeria.
This time it is from the Roman city of Timgad, not far from where i lived and worked when i was there.
I still remember the place well, it was quite extraordinary to visit a major Roman city ruin, and then having it all for myself.
When i was there the war had just started and of course the tourism in this part of Algeria was pretty sparse, which meant that places like these were empty for people.
The city was created as a roman military colony in AD 100.
The picture is a scan, and was very scratched

Hi Harry.
The pic survived very well. The colour and sharpness are still great. It's a really pleasing overall view of a great location. It's a really good scan too. I'd like to know how you had it scanned. Well done. TFS.
Regards, Steve.

Hello,

Très belle composition que ces vestiges, bien vu le cadrage, dommage que je ne peux pas les visiter.

Félicitations et belle soirée.

Nicou

Excellent compo and framing. Impressive historical ruins.

Hello Harry,
This picture has a painterly feel about it, perhaps because of its age and the scanning. Whatever, it makes for a nice ambiance. The composition is well balanced and shows the town in its context. I like it.

Hi Harry,
A good POV and an interesting view on that Roman ruined city... warm color tones and fine sharpness... i detect maybe some noise in the sky, but no big issue
A fine shot
Laurent

Hello Harry'

Who cares about the quality of the picture, the fact that you have provided us with this incredible sight is surely enough and the picture is well framed and explains weel the Roman sight, I am happy to have found dit because I had never heard of Timgad before.

kindest regards - Izzet

Hello Harry, this is a place I did not know about, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. I knew of the Roman remains in Tunisia and Libya but not in Algeria. One day I should visit to see for myself. This is an attractive and interesting site.
