Great dta 2014-05-23 8:20

Hello John ,
It seems that the light conditions were not the best (back light ?) . So , you've done very well , even the clouds are a little overexposed .
This superb old castle is not well maintained . It would derverve to be renovated .
Regards

Default To dta: Merci beaucup, Denis!

Oops, beaucoup!

Bonjour Denis,

Thank you so much for your kind remarks.

Yes, there was indeed quite strong backlighting here and I had to do quite a bit of processing to "lift" the old castle out of the picture. And I agree that the sky is indeed overexposed in parts. The picture was actually taken using my wife's little Canon G10 compact camera - much lighter to carry than a DSLR on walks.

Ah, yes, "back lighting" - in English we have a phrase for it - contre jour!

Kind Regards,

John.
