Great SnapRJW 2014-03-04 3:49

Hello Subho - I very much like the subject and your B&W conversion here. You may consider dodging in a little more detail in the very dark areas but overall I think the shot is well composed and a good DL shot. Warm regards Rosemary

Default To SnapRJW: Dodge

Hello Rosemary,

I am not an expert on PP so I had never used the 'Dodge' option in PS before. Thanks to your suggestion I tried it and it really looks better. Lots of nice details coming out on the dark boat in the FG. Thanks to your suggestion I learnt something new

Regards,
Subho

Smile Great!

Hello Subho - I so pleased that you had a go at dodging in some detail and that you were happy with the result. Why don't you post the edited version as a WS? I would love to see what you did.

Take care

Rosemary

Default I see it now

I see you have already posted an updated version.... Not too bad for a first try! Next time try and feather the edges a bit more so that you don't have such obvious transitional areas visible. You might be able to check exactly where you apply the brush before you change the exposure in order to see where the effect will be and that you have not 'missed' any bits. I don't use PS so I am not sure. You get the idea though and you will find the technique useful I am sure.

Best wishes

Rosemary
