Great holmertz 2014-01-16 9:22

Hello Kristin,
A cute child (meaning nearly all of them) will capture everyone's attention. Dress her in nice colors and she becomes irresistible for every photographer. This girl gets some competition from the padlocks and the graffiti but she is still the undeniable star of the show. There's a slight minus for the parent's hand :-).
Kind regards,
Gert

Default To holmertz: the parent's hand

yes, that mother's hand is indeed annoying in this shot. however, it serves to illustrate how these parents were hovering over their child, sticking her up on walls and in ridiculous places to take her photograph just about everywhere in this park. in this case, she was several feet about the ground, so the hand serves to illustrate that, nervous as the mother was about propping her little girl up on this wall, they still wanted the shot and were willing to take that risk.

we have a term in the states these days for (exasperating) parents who hover over and manage their child's every move ~ 'helicopter' parents

thanks for the smile ~ kristin

Default hand

I guess you have a point.
Let's say that an additional hand compensates for a couple of lost feet
