Default Small tripod issues

I just purchased a small Sirui tripod for when I'm traveling, to attach to my Lowepro slingshot bag. Now the tripod is so light, that I'm getting shaking when taking pics. I know you can attach you bag underneath to add weight to the tripod, but that still can catch the wind to make it shake. I'm sure I'm not the only one that has encountered this issue, but do you have any tips or tricks? I usually shoot my 50D with my 17-55 2.8 Lens, and my 70-200 2.8 L lens, which is heavy for the tripod, with a remote shutter button.

I gues then you have togo for a expensive carbon tripod, it has a limited weight, it is the best (beside wood ) material for reducing shakes, it just expensive.

you could get a tripod with spikes on the bottom of the legs so you can impale the soil so it wont shake
