Hello Martin,
What a fabulous photograph! And one which can be very humorous or very poignant whichever way you look at it.
The interesting, sober and religious tones of the background memorial to the writer and preacher, John Bunyan, contrasts well with the rather dishevelled appearance of the cigarette smoking specimen who has just wandered into the foreground, head hung low and fists thrust into his cardigan pockets, almost in defiance of the background as well as the photographer.
A fabulous capture with exquisite detail and sharpness, perfect exposure and fine natural colours.
Absolutely Brilliant!
Kind Regards,
John.

I dont know what you knew about Bunyan before you read my link (!) but he was clearly a man of very lowly birth, with no great signs of his later development. When I saw this old man I thought immediately of 'the mighty and the fallen', but in fact, the two men may well have been more alike than I supposed ! Either way, thanks for your kind remarks on this one. IT was never going to a storng performer, but I loiked it, and it ticked Bedfordshire for me ! kind regards Martin PS Another day is nearly over, and it seems another day without looking again at 51st state. But I will ! |
