Hi James,
yes, the pattern of the branches is beautiful and the composition with the river too. Why did you go for black and white? I guess it would look amazing in color too, maybe with even more details in the trees.
My best regards
Marina

Black and white just seemed more elegant and more powerful than the colour version, possible because of the different textures throughout and the quality of the light and shadowed areas. i think these things come through more effectively without the distraction of colour sometimes so I thought it was suited. I have uploaded the colour version for comparison also, would be interested to know what you think. Thank you for your comments. Kind Regards, James |

P.S...you are right about the trees, a little more difficult to keep the detail in black and white tones....

Thanks for the workshop, James.
Yes, I think I like the colored version better. It has such a delicate spring palette and makes me feel warm. And I like it that way.)) The black and white may be more stylish but it looks cold, just like winter. Being from a country where winter takes up better part of the year my choice for color is obvious )Have a nice evening! |

hmm I guess both work for different reasons...I see your point about warmth and cold...I'm also still struggling out of winter, this picture was taken two months ago and it was so much warmer than it is now or has been since
....hopefully summer won't be too longThanks again |
