Great Angshu 2012-02-28 1:22

Dear Elaine
I heard that the border areas of Bangladesh (your next destination) with Myanmar provides a lot of photo opportunities of the tribals who cross over & also that the places stink of dried cuttle fish!
Nice daily life image...you mean the rice is still in the bamboo stoots which rest vertically? I might not have mided a bit of a crop at the bottom though!
Best Regards
Angshu

Default To Angshu: Rice in Bamboo

Hi Angshu,
I think the rice is still in the bamboo stoots or maybe she still needs to stuff them and the ones ready are the horizontal stoots on her table. Look her http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Asi...oto1288456.htm
same women one year before cooking the stoots.
If I do make it to Banglasdesh at the end of this year, it will be for three weeks and involve visiting a few places. I've heard Bangladesh is very photogenic, but the draw of India is still very hard to resist, especially after our fantastic trip there in MP last September. Who knows. God willing we will be fortunate to visit somewhere special.
Best regards,

Elaine

Default India destinations

Well, I think you can try Himachal, Kinnaur & Spiti, North East India & not the least, Ladakh. Why not Gujarat in the tribal belt? Actually you've seen more of India than even I have & so I'm a bit tentative with my suggestions :-)

And yes, I keep my hopes alive of meeting you somewhere, sometime!

Best Regards
Angshu
