New to TE and need help

I'm not sure how to critique a photo. I've clicked on a photo and clicked on critique, then added my text and clicked add. Nothing seemed to work, I guess. My question is this; is the critique added right then and there, or does it take a while, like 24hrs to post?

Like I said, I'm new to TE and photography and really don't want to mess up my chance to learn something.

Hi Buddy,

First I must congratulate a newbie who can find the right forum right away!
Second, After clicking on Critique, then writing a critique, did you also choose some of the three smileys or the NR button before clicking "add"?
Normally the comments or critiques appear just after adding.
