Great RhodieIke 2012-02-22 21:57

Hi Brian, Super Pov against these interesting blocks giving us a sense of scale and the feeling of those waves pounding the cliffs. Great light and colours, is it an old Fort or Caste on the cliffs edge? Awsome, Cheers Iain.

Default To RhodieIke: Hawks Brow Fort

Hi Iain

thanks as always for your interest and kind comments.

Yes the red brick building is the shell of an old seafront fort, I did some research for this building before posting the shot and it used to be an attractive fort that actually had a road in front of it back in a photo that was dated 1906.

If you look back through my gallery to the shot called "Red Brick Ruin" you get a better idea of what is left of it and just how close it is to the cliff edge now.

I think if the blocks were not in place this would have tumbled into the sea, as you can see the cliff face beyond it has been eroded by several meters.

Thanks again - Brian.
