Great avene 2012-02-08 10:19

absolutely wonderful photo, Rosemary, both technically and content-wise. B&W was just the right choice to draw our attention to the contrast between carefree expressions of the kids, and old and wrinkled bark of the dead tree. I also love how the tree frames the children, as if trying to protect and shelter them. and I won't even start about the sad reality of white sands versus learning.
great shot, wish it was mine, goes straight to my favourites.

best,
Kristine

Smile To avene: Thank You...

I really value your positive critique on this shot Kristine - It was a serendipitous moment as I don't really do 'people' with any confidence. I think what made it work was the tree which I had been photographing. It was so beautiful and the children where just so natural in front of the lens. The whole thing just came together. I really think it works and I'm glad you agree. Thank you for your kind words.

Warm regards Rosemary
