now this is a cool shot!
cool in terms of likability not temperature :)
i'm sure its pretty hot in here.
without the jeep, i'm sure alot would be lost in the photo. the jeep gives perspective, and a real sense of loneliness and feeling insignificant.
strange colors, somewhat like a dry red?
To macjake: reddish hue
what a coincidence: I wrote a comment to your photo in the exact same moment as you did to mine.
The color is kind of strange indeed, and honestly speaking I don't remember how it was in the real world. I have spent some time trying to decrease the reddish hue because I was afraid nobody would believe it but some of it stayed there.
I came back to the original photo later again to double check how it was in the photo but it was jpg and it is a bit pinky in the original indeed.
Looking at the jeep colors I decided finally that the color must be real as the jeep colors were very realistic.
I think I will come back to the original photo and play with it again for a while...
I have checked. I have taken whole series of photos in this area at that time and they all have a reddish touch. But just the sand. People seem normally colorful, so my guess was it cannot be rather the white balance or something as the people's colors would be messed up as well.
Surprisingly other photos which I took later on that day but in a further place are more grayish than pinkish.
My guess is that it must have been the light conditions.
Alternatively something with in camera processing to jpg. But I other things were normally colored.
The red color curve indeed seems moved too much to the right in comparison to other colors.
But this happened with the original (jpg) photo, I wonder how is it possible.
