Its always quite difficult shooting into the sun like this. Usually we hope for a little more cloud to shield the strength of the sun. Because of this I had to use a second exposure to reveal the disk of the sun. For the main exposed shot I used 2 lee (ND) Graduated Filters giving about 5 stops to help balance the sky and land. I don’t think you could ever get this extreme contrast of highs and lows straight out of the camera so a little graduation and merging of frames achieves this. Thanks for your comments and thoughts.
