Default Good film scanner

Some of us here have some great photo scanned from film. I am wondering what kind of scanner do you have or use? I have a Milnolta Dual Scan, dated for about three years, but it does not do a very good job. Maybe I have been spoiled by the digital camera.

I have been pleased with my HP PhotoSmart S20 photo scanner. I believe it gives very good performance for the price. Mine is also about three years old.

An Epson Perfection 3200 Photo does the job for me...No complains so far...

Using a Nikon SuperCoolscan 4000 ED. Scanning detail is excellent, but it never manages to feed mounted slides squarely - either individually or in the slide loader. Good with uncut rolls, as far as I can tell, but I don't usually have any of those...

I use the original Minolta Scan Dual (The first one with the SCSII interface). I've had it for about 4 years I think, and I'm very pleased with it for scanning negatives. All my pictures from Colombia are scanned with it (see more on www.pbase.com/helstor). The shots from Norway are prints scanned with a cheap Canon flatbed scanner.

I initially used the original HP Photosmart a couple of years ago which I was generally happy with, and then I upgraded to the Minolta Dimage Scan Elite and have been quite disappointed. Slides scan way too dark. Negs are simliar quality and I like the multi-pass scanning ability and Digital ICE.

I am also a bit fustrated with the quality of my scans. I use the Primefilm 1800, which is probably the cheapest film scanner around. It really has a bad colour saturation and big problems with strong contrasts. All value for money i suppose.

Right now in doubt if to buy a better film scanner or to 'sit it out' untill i go digital.
Probably the last.
