thanks for your comments on my photograph. If you are planning to visit that area of Argentina at some stage, then it is well worth staying in Pumamarca overnight: the light on the hills is best in the morning. Scout around the night before to find a good spot for the next morning (there is lots of fences and private land and cactus - so it is worth making sure you have a good access route to a good photo spot). Also worthwhile in Jujuy, and not necessarily in all the tourist guides: Iruya is beautiful, especially if you are ready to do a bit of hiking for up some of the hills in the canyon in which it is located; Yavi, right up on the border with Bolivia is also wonderful. Jujuy is one of my favourite parts of Argentina - my wife and I have been there three times in three years already. Highly recommended. regards, nos vemos, abrazos, Iain |
