Hi, Way,
As usual, this photo features many of your strong traits.
- Crystal-clear sharpness
- Excellent color rendering
- Compelling subject
Usually, I find your compositions superb. Here, there is a key element that I don't like: the placement of the very interesting tree against the very interesting distant canyon walls. Each of these components is visually complex and worth displaying. To have them overlaid, as here, creates in my eye conflict rather than harmony.
Regards,
- William

Again thanks for your honest opinions and well thought out and constructive critique. My thought was to show the tree in its environment which is the conyon, but I certainly didn't think that they can be a conflict. I could have tried to find a POV without the canyon on the background though it maybe hard, since the canyon is all around, and the light seem to work perfectly where I took this shot, therefore I didn't even consider other possibility. That is a good reminder for me to see thing from more than one angle. Thanks. Way |
