Great Waylim 2009-05-01 12:04

Hi Bill,
Thank you so much for the wonderful dedication. It means so much to me. I was a member here for a long time, but I never really posted anything, I was just enjoying the photos. When I returned from my trip to Cambodia and Laos, having found my mother homeland and birth place and returning to my own birth place, I felt a strong emotional connections and it awaken my sense of who I am, where I come from. With some photos and emotional tie to the place I felt I have something more valuable to share. You have been there to encourage me from the very beginning.
And this photo really shows the beauty of the people in the area in a very subtle and gentle way. I like the subtlety of the POV, like an observer from the side line, not disturbing her peace and privacy. That show respectfulness on your part to the people, as we know sometimes we as tourists can be forceful and inconsiderate to just think we can take people of the people when and however we want. This way, you also captured the tenderness and the love between the woman and her son or brother in the most natural way. Technically, is excellent as always, not that it matter that much in this case. As I said in my intro, sometime a good photo isnít always about the technical excellence. Once again thank you so much for this dedication and your sensitivity to my nostalgic connection to Cambodia.
My complements and admiration to you, sincerely.
Way

Default To Waylim: hi

hello Way

I am pleased that you like it because whenever I look at this image, the visualization always links to your 1st Cambodia post and story, that impact is permanent. And thank you for your superbly written critique, it is this kind of touching words that make the travel and posting on TE worth a lot more than just a smiley, in fact it is invaluable.

I hope to return one day. Regards, bill
