Hi Luc,

Yes, I have contacted the person, but that was not the topic of this thread. It wasn't about me, it was about the perception that outsiders from TE that think and promote the fact that this website is an open-bar. I just wanted to draw the attention over this flaw from TE who refuse to provide a locking features that could reduce or dissuade photo thieves.

I was trying to point out that while other popular websites are using it, here, we keep our arms crossed and don't react accordingly. But most of the participants on this thread only came to object to such features, insisting that it wouldn't help and would be very complicated to implement (NASA kind of stuff you know, like a space program to put in place, while strangely enough, bigger and busier websites have no problems whatsoever. Here, on TE planet, everything is more complicated than anywhere else, or at least, according to the qualified IT that educate us about their fascinating world.

So even before proposing to TE admins to consider providing a locking system, once-a-year members drop by and call the shot for the other members who have been victim of getting their shot stolen. That's the dynamic of these threads with the kicking trolls.

Andre...you're out of your f*&king mind. What did Adrian say that was so inflammatory? You need to take your medicine Andre, because the bi-polar disorder is starting to overwhelm a little bit.
For that matter, when did Adrian say he wanted porn on TE?
This site used to be a fun place to participate, it no longer lives up to the expectations that I harbored when I first joined...not too long ago for that matter. At what point did we as a community forget the pleasure that we gained by sharing a few words (many times honest and infused with distinct personality), and become a playground for ridiculous arguments about trivial subjects.
The truth is, if you don't want your photos stolen from the internet, don't post them on the internet. Simple enough right? Simplistic even...I know.
Please retaliate with comments about how I'm small-minded or stupid (as you're want to do Andre), or how I should just leave the site if I don't like what is happening. Don't worry Andre, I already have...
The only reason I leave the photos is because of the comments that friends have left over time...I value their words far more than I value the vain bulls%$t that seems to be pervading the site as of recent.

Hi Christopher,

We are missing you very much here. Nice to see you around.

At what point did we as a community forget the pleasure that we gained by sharing a few words (many times honest and infused with distinct personality), and become a playground for ridiculous arguments about trivial subjects.

You already know the answer Chris. The fun began to dissipate when one member repeatedly bashing against other members (90% of this community) who were doing different things than what he promotes.

And by the way, your sudden appearance on this thread contributes to what you are denouncing. Nice try to create diversion, but this thread is about adding protection to our images.

I'll be happy to talk with you if you have something to say about this subject. Otherwise, get lost.

André

There are two simple solutions to having images stolen:

1) Post photos at under 100 kilobytes.
A web image may be copied but no photo print larger than your thumbnail would be acceptable.
And since Earth Trek and the government has strict Copyright rules, copying can be prosecuted when profit is involved.

2) Or.... Leave Earth Trek.....( or leave the Earth?)

Hi Kaj, you are right, I did not think about the PrintScreen key. I think we should press the keyboard producers to omit this key from the keyboards. :-D

Other option is to create a script blocking funcion of this key and implement it in the website. However, I do not know if the browsers would allow such a script...
...and just like in every other case - who wants to steal, he finds his ways... :-(
