I can only imagine the intense work to dig the burial site on the rock face. It is a very interesting subject which shows very well the cultural side of the people of Sulawesi. Why do they have a house near the burial place? Well done.

the small house is not actually a house. This strcuture that is built as a replica of the torajan rice barns house the coffin durign the funeral cermony adn than transport the coffin to the final resting place. It is then left to decay over time. In my post showign the funeral cermony you can see in the background such a construction with the coffin resting on the "stage". Best regards and thanks for your iterest, Elaine |
