Hi Greg,
Just by looking at the thumbnail, we perceive that it's an attractive and powerful compo, beautifully lighted. The stretch of sand bordered by the dark triangle on the lower left and the sea leads the eye to the corner and then turn right following the pier near he horizon. Great!
But the post proper offers couple of other good surprises: the light and colours are more amazing than we had anticipated and the surface of the water and the little shining curves on the shoreline are absolutely gorgeous!
It's irresistible to agree with you that seeing such a view after waking up has to make us very optimistic about the future.
