Hi Sonal.
May I ask "for what?" This isn't as daft a question as it might initially seem as they both have their good points. Chances are if you ask a Canon user, they'll go for the Canon and Nikon users will be pro-Nikon. The best option is to go and have a look at both, get some test images and see which fits your hand easiest and you find most intuitive to use. Both are excellent pieces of kit - just have a look at the images posted on this website using them. However, there is no "better option" unless you are more specific on what you want out of the camera and you've had a hands-on. Hope you buy the one you like the mots and suits you best. Paul |

an addl fact is that both cameras are outdated and that the newer models bring significant improvements both on canon (450D) and nikon (D60/D80/D90) sides, sony and pentax being also brands to consider

if you have good glass (objectives) from one brand, you're choice is done quickly, stay with it.
I do not thing some are really much better than others, but I know only one brand well ;) |

Thanks Paul for the reply. I know better models have come up in the market but haven't tried/seen them yet. So, I guess, I should follow what you said and have a round of the market first before making any decision.
Thanks Again, Sonal |

Thanks Didier for the reply. But, may I ask which brand are you talking about - Nikon or Nikkor?

Ooops, sorry, I asked this question :O. Actually, I thought Nikkor is also a brand of cameras. I got it, you are talking about Nikon.
Thanks, Sonal |
