hej Anders. thanks for the kind comment and the workshop. as to workshop: we were working against each other, lol. in the exposure, i weighted heavily towards the people around the biggest bonfire and tried to underexpose the shadows, for more dramatic feel. i subdued the shadows even more in post-processing (for example, i felt the jackets of the folks to the left of the sitting boys were too bright and compositionally disruptive), by selectively lowering curves in shadows. my intent was to leave just the well lit parts with details. i succeeded on my home computer, but then noticed on a brighter one that details were still visible, but that's how i left it.
