Great tyro 2008-04-08 5:30

Hello, Peter.

I like this picture very much. Despite what you say, I think the lighting is superb - a couple of hours earlier and the light would have been more directly onto the building - I rather like the shadows of the trees as they give it a lot of depth.

Stunningly sharp and clear, as usual, with great detail. A very nice sky too.

Best Wishes,

John.

P.S. An excellent note!

Thanks for you kind words on this one, John.

No polariser used, so I was pleased with the sky.

I am trying to get to grips with both Raw Therapee and PS7 at the moment - a lot to learn still! At last I think I am getting the hang of layers, and I try to use a separate one for each of levels, curves, saturation and colour balance of an image, so that I can see the effect of turning on or off each alteration stage in the PP. I also now realise the value of using the function keys, for showing and hiding the palettes, [and for a lot of other things] - much quicker than continually pulling down menus with the mouse. I also find Luko's sharpening method excellent for nearly everything.

Best wishes,

Peter.
