may be my favorite photographer.
Nobody seems to talk about him..

yeah ive seen hi works . he's good, really good. to be honest im quite surprised that your "maybe" favourite photographer is a black and white photographer :)

i think i'll post the link to his magnum gallery for others to have a look , since there are many more photographs here

He has done some color too, in China..

Yeah I saw his China photos, lots of them were exceptional...No one doubts Riboud is a great photographer but I also heard an interview about him where he admitted he didn't achieve such popular recognition perhaps because he didn't show a strong personal style but only mimics from HCB. (If you ask me, not the worst influence ;)..)

He claimed that at some time he was a huge fan of HCB, his former Magnum colleague, all he wanted to do was emulating HCB pictures at a point even other Magnum members had to tell him to stop being so submitted to HCB's eye.

Well, I guess the "Riboud : 50 years of photography" book would make a nice christmas present to add to my wishlist.
