Great jurgen 2007-09-12 7:43

I wonder if you shot many pictures and selected this one. Personally, when I shoot waves splashing, I never get such a good picture as this one in my first effort.
The lighting is excellent here, just on the crest of the wave to enhance the contrast against the darker sea. Knowing that it measuers 7-8m, I can imagine they were huge. And by 70km/h winds, it should have been very difficult to even hold the camera.
A great picture.
Regards

Default To jurgen: angrea sea

Hello Jurgen,

The conditions were truly miserable, and I was afraid of getting closer to the bannister and winding up in the water. I took only 5-6 shots. Two of them were comparable in drama and exposure quality.

I am a scientist/artist, but years ago I had painted the image of an angry sea that was astonishingly close in structure to this, and that is the only reason I chose to present this one.

Many thanks for the note,

Bulent
