Default James Nachtwey

thanks Adam for this forum! I hope we all will learn more about photography here...

and to start somehow I'd like to show you works of one of my favorite photographers - James Nachtwey. His photos tell true stories... and there is so much pain and sadness in some of his photographs, so real...

here is his website : http://jamesnachtwey.com/

Fabulous photos! Straight to my favorites.

Dispite what I present in TE this is the type of photography I aim to do. Wish one day I have the opportunity and adequate equipment to make images close to these ones.

there's a documentary about james Nachtwey, where the a camera above his lens captures all his moves during the heavy battles in the Gaza-strip... there you can see the man is totally twisted... while everybody dives away for the bullets onf the army, the camera goes up to shoot some 'nice' photo's... damn that where one of the scariest docu's I ever saw... but he does make great photographs for sure... :)

Default more photographers

farrokh chothia is a portrait photographer, and has jazz musicians, fashion shots and shots hes done of models in b&w as well as colour.

elliott erwitt has a wide range of shots in b&w. What he calls 'snaps' in his portfolio are mainly decisive moment shots which are really good. (he's also on Magnum- well, i should say he's a Magnum photographer and he also has his own site : )
