Both Michael at www.luminous-landscape.com and Phil at www.dpreview.com have reviewed all the "8s".
(Personally I would steer you toward another one, not these two. Read the reviews and see if they help you decide.) |

Thanks Bob. Can you tell me what is the other one that you'd choose.

Personally I'd go for the A2. I bought the A1 before the A2 came to market, wish I had waited a bit.
I'm in love with image stabilized cameras. I don't like flash and do a fair amount of low-light shooting (temple interiors for example). I find that I get excellent hand-held shots with shutter speeds as low a 1/2 sec. with just a bit of concentration. I could never go below 1/30th sec. without IS. Also the A2 has a totally excellent EVF. I played with one a couple of weeks ago and had no problem manually focusing with it. I can manually focus with my A1 but it's a bit harder. The fact that Michael Reichman (Luminous-Landscape) bought an A2 and quit using (sold?) his F828 says something to me as well. |
